STATEMENT
Alfredo Rolando Grosman works primarily in alabaster, engaging the material as both structural presence and conceptual field. His sculptures emerge through a process of subtraction, where mass is gradually refined into fluid, tension-based forms that balance weight and lightness.
Rather than imposing narrative, Grosman allows the inherent veining, density, and translucency of stone to inform compositional decisions. The resulting works occupy a space between solidity and permeability, investigating thresholds of containment, ascent, and internal movement.
Through controlled intervention and surface precision, the sculptures articulate a dialogue between permanence and transformation. Each piece exists as a concentrated study of equilibrium—between gravity and elevation, opacity and illumination, restraint and release.
